Leipzig’s landmark
For four decades, the 142,5 meter high building has been the tallest office building and a landmark of the city of Leipzig.
The high-rise building, which was constructed in 1972 as a sectional building of the university, was built according to the designs of the architect Hermann Henselmann, who also received international acclaim as the architect of the Berlin television tower.
In the form of an open book, the building, which was visible over a long distance, was soon also popularly known as the „wisdom tooth“, „university giant“ or „ steep tooth“.
The city high-rise building was the tallest building in Germany in the years 1968 – 1972 and is now ranked 24th in the list.
In 1999 the complete building as well as the exterior facade was renovated and turned into what you find today in the heart of Leipzig. The light grey facade is made of chinese granite and glass.
Today, the university is no longer located in the building. After being sold by the state government, the building now belongs to the U.S. investment bank Merill Lynch, represented by CRE Resolution GmbH.
In 2007 the restaurant areas were redesigned according to the plans of architect Rüdiger Renno and designer Till Brömme. In addition to the restaurant Panorama Tower „Plate of Art“ the Leipzig tourism and marketing GmbH, the GET AG and the electricity exchange EEX are further tenants in the building.
The best way to enjoy the beautiful panorama of Leipzig is on the observation deck on the 31st floor. The entrance fee for the viewing platform is € 5,00 per person.
Our restaurant underneath Panorama Tower „Plate of Art“, is the highest restaurant in Central Germany.
At a height of 120 meters, you can expect not only a fantastic view over the skyline of the trade fair city and when visibility is good far beyond the city limits, but also an offer of exquisite specilities from a varied cuisine.

Our restaurant consists of 4 different rooms, each of them bears the name of a city in the corresponding cardinal points.
The restaurant area of New York, Cape Town and St. Petersburg are fully accessible, the restaurant area of Tokyo is partially accessible. Choose the Cape Town restaurant for Leipzig’s south and the Battle of the National Monument or Tokyo for the eastern part of Leipzig and the Russian Church.
All our facilities can also be booked for individual occasions and company events. Please don’t hesitate to ask us!
St. Petersburg
Let's take a look in the direction of St. Petersburg: Tradition and history as it could hardly be more beautiful!
Look to the north of Leipzig over the church of St. Nicholas, probably the only place where a peaceful revolution began. Marketplace, opera and Gewandhaus are in front of you! The largest terminal station of Europe in front of the Leipzig tunnel construction. Enjoy this special view with a special menu!

New York
New York, New York – an impressive metropolis!
On the line of sight there is the beautiful St. Thomas church with its impressive history about Johann Sebastian Bach. The West of Leipzig with the horse race track, the stadium and the Gondwanaland!
The New Town Hall and the Pleissenburg as well as the magnificent building of the Federal Administrative Court, where Dimitrow held his trial against the Third Reich.

Tokyo
Tokyo – If the earth were a disc and our eyesight an even sharper lens, you might see Tokyo here! But the thoughts are free and so you are allowed to dream a little bit into the world!
Here you can enjoy a clear view of the east of Leipzig! Especially beautiful, among many other sights and clearly structured architecture, the Grassi museum of the Russian church!

Cape Town
Cape Town – the city of Table Mountain, top-class cuisine and best wine!
At our place the Leipziger New Zealand with the lakes of Cospudener, Zwenkauer and the Markkleeberger lies before you! Impressive are the monument of the battle of the nations, the church of St. Peter, the Belantis leisure park and the bavarian station, a monument to the history of transport.

The Platform
The platform – 130 meters above, everyday life!
On the platform of the Panorma Tower the view is unrestricted in all four directions. Breath unlimited freedom, feel the wind in your face. Far, the view reaches as far as the horizon!
The platform is unique in the Center of Germany! Not the „Empire State Building“ and not the „Eiffel Tower“. But if you have been to these and compare, you can't help but pay tribute to the builders and architects of the Panorama Tower and City skyscraper. Enjoying a coffee, a glass of champagne in your hand and just dream!
Leipzig's highest outdoor seating area invites you to enjoy a sparkling glass of Prosecco in summer – could there be a more romantic place for a rendezvous?
For celebrations and events our viewing platform can be transformed according to your wishes. A magical wedding reception, a futuristic dance floor or an exclusive champagne reception - the team of the Panorama tower will make your dreams come true!
The viewing platform is open daily from 9am until half an hour before the restaurant closes.The entrance fee for the viewing platform is € 5,00 per person.

For two decades, the Leipzig artist has been successfully creating wonders and a very special kind of entertainment throughout the German-speaking world.

Theater Turbine
The Theaterturbine ensemble is one of the most successful impro-theatre groups in Germany and has been inspiring companies and private festive societies throughout Germany with professional improvisational theatre since 2002. The Theaterturbine has also international contacts of the crème de la crème of the impro-theatre scene! Since 2014, the improvised crime dinner show „Delicate Crimes“ has been a regular feature of the Panorama Tower restaurant: here is not only good food, but a criminal case spun and solved – improvised, of course!

The KuSamba Show is a renowned Latin dance group from Leipzig that brings Caribbean joie de vivre to your event. We bring the sunshine with us! We have been dancing together since 2020 and thrill audiences across the country. We are happy to share our love of dance and music with you! Our aim is to take you away into a Caribbean world – Latin American flair for an unforgettable party.
We offer our audience outstanding shows and events. We have loved dancing since childhood and have danced professionally in various dance groups and clubs. See for yourself!
We are happy to tailor the show to your individual wishes (for example with a singer and capoeira dancers). On request, we involve the guests in the show, and they learn their first salsa steps.

Balalaika & piano – music to remember
The balalaika is an instrument you rarely get to hear live – virtuosic, surprising and full of character. Elena Mumber and Madin Ogunlade combine balalaika and piano to create selected musical moments for company parties, birthdays and special dinner evenings. The music is woven into the course of your event and tailored to each occasion. The repertoire ranges from classical and modern music to folk.
